“Pioneering Spirit” (The Apostle)
As we head out on our journey toward the fullness of God’s promises for His Church, He is speaking to us concerning that which lies ahead.
We have not been this way before and therefore must focus on the solitary figure of Christ. He alone is the signpost that is raised high above all other seemingly “right” paths. His majesty is to be viewed from far below in our earthly realm to be the shining light that beacons us forward to things of eternity. Only as we draw near to the everlasting Rock will we experience the reassuring presence that calls us to the promises beyond.
Great excitement will fill our souls as we learn to tap into the very source of life and depend on nothing but the pure fount of His grace. The challenges ahead will dim as we take refuge in the shadow of the Almighty and are strengthened mightily for the grueling task.
Those with a listening ear will respond to the sounds of the new journey. They will rise up in newness of life with a fresh fire that is kindled by the Light of Truth. The chill of night will be banished as the glory of God shines forth from the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ and floods the whole earth.
The new day has begun and a new destination is in sight. The way of passage has been cleared but it is not without price that it can be negotiated. Ahead lies the most difficult phase of all. Worldly possessions must be left behind so that we can press on and scale the mountain of His Presence. A great vulnerability is called for that will bring us to a new state of humility that will open before us the vast land of the grandeur of God.
